The SPUQC Center for Admissions and Linkages has recently facilitated the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between St Paul University Quezon City and Loyola Marymount University Los Angeles (LMU/LA).

LMU/LA is a private, co-educational university in the Jesuit and Marymount traditions located in the Westchester neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles, California.  It is institutionally committed to Roman Catholicism and takes its primary inspiration from the combined heritage of the Jesuits, the Marymount Sisters, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange.

Its Catholic identity and religious tradition differentiate LMU from other universities and provide standards for understanding their mission. It offers rigorous undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs to academically ambitious and committed students.

Cooperation between SPUQC and LMU/LA shall be carried out through activities such as:

  • Exchange of students and/or interns
  • Exchange of faculty and/or staff
  • Joint research activities and publications
  • Participation in seminars and academic meetings
  • Exchange of academic materials and other information
  • Special short-term academic programs
  • Joint conferences and workshops

During the 2016-2017 mid-year classes of SPUQC’s BS Education students, a one-unit course was conducted by the LMU Team headed by Dr. Edmundo Edward Litton, Professor, Chairperson of the Department of Specialized Programs in Urban Education; Director of Teach for America, and Acting Director of Catholic Archdiocese School Teachers.

SPUQC looks forward to more collaborative activities with LMU/LA. This partnership will indeed open great opportunities and provide huge impact to both institutions.
