St. Paul University Quezon City participated in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 11, 2021. The activity was spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
The activity was held via live stream. The ceremonial pressing of the button was held at 2:00 p.m. where the audience watching the live stream were encouraged to practice “duck, cover and hold” in their houses and offices. Per advisory of NDRMMC, no evacuation drill and scenarios will be conducted in compliance with the minimum public health measures.
Our school’s participation in this activity concretizes the objectives of our advocacy on Disaster Preparedness and Management which are 1). Create awareness among employees and students on disaster risk, prevention and mitigation 2). Keep abreast the employees and students on matters concerning disaster prevention and management 3) Ensure safe and security of employees and students as they participate in regular fire and earthquake drills and 4). Make certain that the employees and students are vigilant, knowledgeable and skillful in terms of their actions during the event of disaster.
