College of Business and Technology Prof. Dr. Adrian Carvajal and a few second year Social Entrepreneurship students Abegail Serrano, Dianne Canada and Jean Mariz Grajo presented two research papers in the Word Council for Curriculum Instruction (WCCI) Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Conference on August 17-19, 2017 at the Novotel, Araneta Center, Quezon City.

The conference, held in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the ASEAN of which the Philippines was host,  was facilitated with the strong support from the Quezon City government. 

WCCI is a non-government organization  of the United National in consultative status with UNESCO and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is a transnational educational organization committed to advancing the achievement of a just and peaceful world community through collaboration in curriculum and instruction projects.

The conference theme was  Towards a Sustainable WCCI-ASEAN Cooperation in Curriculum and Instruction.”

Sister Bernadette Racadio, SPC described the conference as a fruit of fusion and more as it decisively sounded its conch to call its ASEAN neighbor educators and international friends to share their best educational experiences.

Dr. Carvajal presented a paper on how accreditation becomes a quality assurance for parents on university education;  an assurance for parents and their children that their university of choice is a good choice. 

Furthermore, the SPUQC students illustrated sample designs of an ASEAN basket currency with rationale of its security features and cultural design aesthetics which were made in their Principles of Money, Banking and Credit class.
